Little Tornado

It's official - we have a little tornado, or LT as my husband refers to her. Our daughter is so curious and intrigued by the world that she gets into EVERYTHING. I love her zest for life and her curiosity, but there are days when I wonder if I can handle it! Her new big thing is opening drawers on her own and pulling everything out. Or eating Q-tips. Or toilet paper.

But in all honestly, she sometimes just wears me out. I love her zest for life, but sometimes I am the one who needs nap time more than she does!

Potty Time!

Yes, she is only 16 months old. But I want her to get comfortable around the potty and get her ready to ditch diapers. So a couple of months ago we bought a potty. She was TERRIFIED of it. So it just sat in the bathroom and she wouldn't go near it. Over the past weekend, she has gotten more comfortable around it. She has figured how to take it apart and that the bottom becomes a step stool (which she LOVES since it gets her closer to the sink!).

Last night I put the potty seat on the toilet and asked if she wanted to sit on it - and she did! She sat there for a minute or so then got down. She didn't potty, or even have her pants down, but she sat there. Her reward? She loves washing her hands so we washed her hands and talked about how every time she sits on the potty or goes potty, we wash our hands.

I know this is only the start to a LONG road of potty training, and part of me will be sad when she is out of diapers since she will be getting so big. But part of me won't miss doing 3 extra loads of cloth diapers per week. I will miss the SUPER CUTE covers though!!
